Marine Corps Tradition in Veterans Day Tribute
From Ruthann
My nephew, SSGT Ryan R. Walker USMC is in Falusia Iraq since early August 2007…his 2nd time. What makes it more difficult for him (for me as well) is his Dad, my brother, died suddenly in June 2007 age 60. Ryan is a remarkable young man who thinks FIRST of his unit, then himself. Everything we send him, he takes very little and puts the rest in a SHARE BOX for his unit to help themselves. Pretty admirable for a 26 year old man. Ryan’s home base is Camp Lejeune, NC. I will pray for your son…I know you are praying for all our Military. I am PROUD to say I am not only a MARINE CORPS AUNT, but also, a MARINE CORPS MOM 1991-1997 Persian Gulf War era (my son Kirk age 34, is a veteran now ). Love & Prayers,Ruthann

So sorry to hear about Ryan’s Dad (your Brother). Ryan and I met while both stationed in Okinawa, Japan in the Marine Corps (1999). So incredibly sweet-HUGE HEART!! We later were stationed in Jacksonsonville,NC together in(2001-2003) then I got out of the service. I had no idea he was deployed…and for a second time!! I will keep him in my prayers and always in my heart.

My Son, Seargeant Jeremy Burns ,USMC, is a in the 2/3 battallion, out of Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, which is going to deploy in early January for Falusia. He is 26 and very proud to be going. I am proud of him,but as you know very scared for him to be going. His tour should only be about 7 months, so I am already looking farward to September 08. Before he deploys, we will have him for the Christmas Holidays. My prayers are with you and yours.
Have a Merry Christmas

Those of you who have sons and daughters deploying to Iraq soon, as Angela must know that things are better now than they were.
I have talked with Salute Our Heroes and Wounded Warriors and thanked them personally for making it possible for my son to serve until April in a much safer place.
Because of those that went before my son and yours, Angela, the likelyhood of something happening to them is GREATLY reduced.
Remember our Wounded Warriors and Salute Our Heroes as the Brave Warriors they are!
May God’s Face shine upon them!

My son will be deploying the end of January. I am proud that he is so proud of himself. He is in Hawaii right now and says he loves what he is doing, and all that he is learning.
I am so scared for him also. Do you ever get used to it? I understand his deployment will be for 15 motnhs.
I will keep your sons/family in my prayers. Please include my son Jason in yours.
God Bless
Diana
