I haven’t seen my son in about 5 months, and now he is in Iraq. We heard of him going through Kuwait to Northern Bagdad and then to Southern Bagdad.
Before he got settled in, he really didn’t understand what the war was about and why we had been there so long.
It seems that after our guy and girls get over there, a change comes over them. Call it God ministering to His warriors or whatever you want, but my son has definitely changed.
Here is a note his precious wife got yesterday:
“Hey my beautiful bride, I miss you so much baby. You are all I think about. I am doing fine over here, they are working us like a dog but we have to so we can keep it safe over here for the people. I love it here baby, it is so beautiful, I love it when we go on patrol because of all of the kids on the side of the road and I give them high fives and stuff and they are all smiles, all the little girls remind me of elizabeth so I am like extra protective of them. These people need us over here. i used to not believe in us being here but i do now. The Iraqi police and our interpritor gave me a nickname, i dont know how to spell it but it means a man who seeks justice, or something like that its pretty cool. but them kids can get annoying sometimes, they like crowd around you asking for alot and ur like dude i dont have anything and they still think you do. haha. Well i am not in a place where i can use a phone that much but i will try to call you as much as possible baby. I miss the sound of your voice. Ok baby I gotta go back to keeping iraq safe. I love you baby. Haha people get to sleep better at night because your husband walks the street keeping them safe. thats awesome, i love you baby talk to you when i can. Your one and only, Husband”

I, as a Mom, know why we are fighting. I can’t get out of my mind those people with their blue fingers (men and women) after they voted. There was such hope then! If Petrius had been General then, I think we would have been out of there today.
But the people need us and that is one thing America does, it help people.
I’ll write more as I learn how to use this WordPress. Hopefully, it will get easier.
